At Acoustic Wave, we like stories - especially ones about throwing all your cards in the air and letting them land as they may. So, here's ours...

Vicky
Just a small town girl, uprooted from her seaside home for life in the hills. Good times. Growing up on fresh air, fleetwood mac, river bathing, berry picking, dancing and daydreams, she finally picked up her own radio show - The Edge! This led to a lengthy stint in the radio biz - presenting, radio & event production, voice overs, free gigs, festivals, band interviews...speed typing - it wasn't all rock n' roll. Anyway, one sunny day she strolled into an Edinburgh radio station, where she eventually met James...

James
Just a small town boy, he was listening to James Taylor before he was even born. His granny taught him to cook. He helped out on the farm, went to Uni, developed his record collection and discovered another passion - making music. He joined a band, started writing songs and played a few gigs of his own. He also picked up work in fine dining and further developed that early culinary education. Tempted by a day job, he finally arrived at that same Edinburgh radio station "just in time for the death rattle". It was fun while it lasted but a buy out signalled the end of an era. Yet, there was still the music...

The Launch of Acoustic Wave

Vicky dreamed of living like a gypsy (for a while), maybe creating a music cafe, evolving the best of her media career and getting back to the seaside that she loved. Eventually, they took the plunge!!

Lyrically speaking, they danced the tango with chance, drank with the Irish, smoked with the hippies, sent postcards from Amsterdam, ran out of wine in Italy, played games with the faces, sipped another rum and coke, Barcelona - what a beautiful horizon, sailed into the mystic, no ceiling bearing down on them, save the starry skies above, counted headlights on the highway..

Travelling, they rediscovered what they sort of knew already, that life's greatest rewards come from embracing simple pleasures & positive ideals. So they came home to Scotland to launch their boutique media & entertainment studio, Acoustic Wave. Going with their natural flow of creativity & communication, they were on course to showcase a unique blend of passions and talents in Media & Promotion, Events, Music & Bespoke Hospitality. Lots of new adventures followed - projects in Corsica and Mallorca, three months living on the Isle of Mull, working in fairytale castles and mystical glens, building a mobile recording studio and roaming the highways & byways. They had no fixed abode - except Sunny the Campervan - until serendipity sailed up. A little house and more permanent studio space overlooking the sea was available in the East Neuk. Acoustic Wave dropped anchor...
